HE ARA TMATA CREATING GREAT PLACES Supporting our people Far North District Council Te Kaunihero o Tol Tokerou ki le Raki August 2021 Almost two-thirds of the Far North District's 2508km road network is unsealed. The Council doesn't have the funds to seal all unsealed roads, so we seal sections of a small number of our busiest, most densely populated roads to reduce the harmful impacts that dust has on nearby residents. We are sealing 9.4 km of seven roads in the district over the next three years under our Priority Seal Extensions Programme which is funded entirely by rates.
